Hidroelectrica explică de ce scumpește energia

Hidroelectrica is increasing the active energy price from 0.45 to 0.515 lei/kWh starting October, citing rising costs and unfavorable hydrological conditions. The price hike is about 13%, with an estimated 7% impact on final consumer bills. The company attributes the increase to lower hydro production and higher operational costs, while still claiming the new price remains competitive. The adjustment does not apply retroactively and affects only new customers and contracts expiring. Despite the increase, Hidroelectrica reported a significant profit in the first half of 2026, raising concerns from the Energy Intelligence Association about the timing of the price rise amid other rising consumer costs.
