Hidrocentralele începute în arii protejate pot fi terminate. Parlamentul a adoptat legea - Economica.net
The Romanian Chamber of Deputies has approved a law allowing the completion of hydropower plants in protected areas, following a presidential review request. The law permits the removal of certain land from protected areas to finalize these projects, which have been under construction since before June 29, 2007. Environmental organizations have protested, claiming the law endangers 27 national parks, and the legislation exempts strategic energy projects from environmental assessments. Several hydropower projects, totaling 700 MW, are expected to be completed in the coming years, with some nearing completion.
