The regional water and sewage operator Hidro Prahova has been found to have overpaid for equipment and fuel, exceeding contract values significantly. An audit revealed that the company paid 2 million lei more than the agreed amount for fuel and acquired equipment at inflated prices, up to 2.4 times higher than market rates. Additionally, discrepancies in fuel consumption records were noted, with incorrect entries leading to further financial irregularities. The company is preparing an official response to address the findings of the audit report.
