HARTĂ Zece piațete din Centrul Vechi al Bucureștiului vor fi reabilitate pentru a le reda pietonilor. Printre ele - Piața Sfântul Ștefan

The Sector 2 City Hall is launching the "Piațete Libere" urban project in collaboration with the World Bank, aiming to renovate ten historical squares into pedestrian community spaces. The local administration has presented redesign concepts based on resident feedback, with public consultations attracting around 500 participants. The project will begin construction in spring next year, starting with three squares, followed by seven others throughout the year. Mayor Rareș Hopincă emphasized ongoing citizen consultation during all project phases. The initiative aims to reduce traffic impact and create safer, greener pedestrian areas, with a dedicated platform for community input throughout the implementation process.
