The EIC STEP Scale Up program has selected six companies for significant investments in critical technologies, including AI chips and energy systems for data centers. The total funding could reach 97 million EUR, aimed at enhancing Europe's technological independence. Selected firms focus on advanced processors, energy infrastructure, laser communications, battery recycling, and CO₂-based construction materials. Each company may receive between 10 and 30 million EUR, with the goal of fostering innovation and strengthening supply chains within the EU. The program is part of a broader initiative to support strategic technology development in Europe.
