Over 300 new hotel, guesthouse, and villa projects are underway in Romania, with a total investment of 10.8 billion lei. Despite increased revenues in Bucharest hotels, national occupancy rates remain low at around 30%. The most tourist traffic is seen in Constanța, Bucharest, and Brașov. In the past year, 376 accommodation units have been constructed, with Constanța leading in investments. Future hotel projects are expected to add over 5,300 rooms by 2029, including major international brands entering the market. Tourist arrivals have slightly increased, with Romanians making up 81% of visitors, while occupancy rates have decreased slightly compared to last year.
