Harta industriei de armament din România | Cine produce arme, muniție și blindate și unde ajung miliardele

Romania is set to invest billions in factories producing weapons, ammunition, and military vehicles, with both state-owned and international companies involved. Rheinmetall and Otokar are establishing Mediaș as a defense industry hub, while Cugir aims to regain its role in individual armament production. The European SAFE program allocates €16.68 billion for military equipment and dual-use infrastructure, promoting local production and reducing import dependency. Rheinmetall has secured contracts worth €5.7 billion, including infantry fighting vehicles and ammunition, with production primarily in Romania. Otokar is also investing in local production of armored vehicles. The competition for contracts, particularly in individual armament, remains open, with companies like Beretta seeking to enter the market.
