Hackeri chinezi s-au dat drept experţi americani pentru a fura e-mailuri de la specialişti în inteligenţa artificială din Statele Unite și Japonia

Chinese hackers impersonated American AI experts to steal emails from professionals in think tanks and universities, according to Proofpoint. The group, known as TA419, has targeted individuals in the U.S. and Japan since 2025, using malware and specific internet infrastructure. Recent phishing attempts involved emails claiming to be from AI experts, including a former White House official, inviting collaboration on AI initiatives. The emails directed targets to websites designed to capture their passwords. While China denies cyber espionage, the tactics suggest an interest in U.S. policy-making rather than just technology theft. One identified target, Alex Engler, received a suspicious email that prompted him to verify its authenticity.
