The Minister of Labor, Florin Manole, stated that the future unified salary law should include salary increases for state officials, including the Prime Minister and ministers. He noted that their salaries have not changed in nearly eight years. However, he emphasized that such increases are not a priority given the current economic context, and the law will be revisited next year based on economic developments. Manole highlighted that low salaries for local officials, especially mayors, affect many employees in local administration. He acknowledged that salary increases for officials should not be prioritized amid economic difficulties, focusing instead on pension increases starting January 2027.
