The Spanish government has introduced measures to expedite the return of thousands of migrants in Ceuta following a massive influx from Morocco in late July. The priority is to ensure the return and repatriation of as many individuals as possible while respecting legal and human rights. Approximately 3,500 to 7,000 migrants, including unaccompanied minors, remain in Ceuta. Authorities are tasked with identifying each person to determine their eligibility for asylum or initiate repatriation. A 'unified command' has been established to enhance coordination among state and local administrations. Additionally, new reception centers with 1,800 places will be created to restore normalcy in Ceuta, amidst ongoing debates about the management of this humanitarian crisis.
