The government has revised the financial support scheme for transporters, linking aid for diesel fuel to temporary excise tax reductions. Currently, transporters receive 0.85 lei per liter of diesel, but this amount will decrease proportionally with any excise cut. For a 15% reduction, aid drops to 0.71 lei; for 20%, it goes to 0.57 lei; and for 25%, it falls to 0.43 lei. This adjustment aims to align the excise reduction with the financial support provided to transporters while adhering to EU tax regulations. The government believes this change will help mitigate the impact of rising diesel prices on transport companies' operational costs during the crisis.
