Guvernul prelungește starea de alertă în energie: în caz de criză, consumul ar putea fi limitat
Romania faces significant energy challenges as the Cernavoda nuclear plant remains offline due to low Danube water levels, leading to increased energy imports and higher consumer prices. The government has extended the energy alert status for another 30 days to ensure supply security. With both reactors offline since July and August, the country may need to import nearly 2,000 MW during peak consumption periods. Renewable energy production is also expected to decline, while coal plants can only provide limited output. Authorities may impose export restrictions or consumption limits if the situation worsens. Energy prices have surged, with costs potentially exceeding 2 lei/kWh. Reactors may resume operation by mid-October if conditions improve.
