The Niculescu government plans to exempt mothers with children under two from health insurance contributions and introduce new rules for parental benefits. Veterans will also benefit from this exemption. The health insurance contribution was introduced in 2025 as part of fiscal measures to reduce the deficit. Additionally, parents returning to work from child care leave may receive up to six months of benefits, depending on when they return. The government also commits to maintaining a subsidy for employers hiring parents with three or more children.
