Finance Minister Roland Lescure announced a revised growth forecast of 0.5% for 2026, down from 0.7%, while maintaining a 1% growth estimate for next year. The government faces challenges in adopting the 2027 budget amid rising economic uncertainties and increased borrowing costs. Lescure noted that the budget was based on a 5% deficit target, which is now unattainable. France will spend €65 billion on debt repayment this year, exceeding initial plans by €4.5 billion.
