Romanian potato farmers can receive financial aid before harvest under strict conditions, as approved by the government on August 14, 2026. The scheme offers up to 300 euros per hectare, depending on the cultivated area, with a total budget of 26.625 million lei. This support aims to alleviate rising production costs and challenges from imports. Eligible producers must cultivate at least 0.3 hectares and achieve a minimum yield of 12 tons per hectare. The aid is limited to 50,000 euros over three years per entity, and if demand exceeds the budget, the aid per hectare will be reduced accordingly.
