The construction of the Ruse-Veliko Tarnovo highway, specifically the Ruse-Biala section, is progressing and is expected to be completed by the end of 2028. Bulgarian Minister Ivan Shishkov announced this during a site visit, highlighting EU funding for the project. A detailed plan for the remaining sections will be presented soon to expedite construction. Additionally, a major modernization project for the Biala-Pleven road is nearing approval. The entire highway aims to connect Ruse to Makaza as a single integrated route. The Ruse-Biala section is funded with 525 million euros from European and national sources.
