The Romanian government approved the technical-economic indicators for the investment project aimed at modernizing the railway infrastructure in Bucharest, with a total cost exceeding 17 billion lei. The project will enhance a 398 km railway network over an estimated 60-month execution period. It aims to improve safety, efficiency, and connectivity with public transport systems, including the metro and airport. Additionally, it will reduce transit times for freight trains and support sustainable regional mobility through public transport solutions. Funding will come from non-reimbursable external sources and the state budget.
