The interim Bolojan cabinet approved a government decision to support employees laid off from the National Uranium Company, which is in insolvency. The decision allocates 3.23 million lei from the unemployment insurance budget for 2026 to provide monthly completion income for eligible laid-off workers. A collective dismissal plan for 109 employees is set for 2026-2027, with 70 qualifying for the completion income. The company has been in insolvency since December 2021, and its financial situation has deteriorated significantly, with a reported turnover drop of over 33 times since 2018.
