Georgescu, known as "Guru", has been placed in preventive detention for 30 days due to allegations of fraud involving 1.1 million euros. The decision followed a contested ruling by the Bucharest Tribunal, which initially denied the prosecutors' request for preventive arrest. A third judge intervened to resolve differing opinions among the judges regarding Georgescu's release. The case stems from a complaint by businessman Răzvan Leu, who claims he was defrauded through a fake business deal involving precious metals. Prosecutors have also placed a lien on Georgescu's villa in Mogoșoaia as part of the recovery process.
