Grupurile de plăţi interne din Europa vor forma o companie comună pentru reducerea dependenţei de Visa şi Mastercard

European payment groups have announced a joint venture to oversee cross-border payments, aiming to reduce reliance on US companies like Visa and Mastercard. The new European Payment Network (EPN) will be based in Madrid and will connect existing payment systems with a common technical and operational framework. Founders include Bancomat, Bizum, and others, serving around 10 million customers across 13 countries. This initiative comes as the ECB plans to introduce a digital euro by 2029, while national payment systems focus on interoperability.
