Grupul UMB al familiei Umbrărescu a cumpărat termocentrala Halânga

The UMB Group, led by Dorinel Umbrărescu, has acquired the Romag Termo Halânga power plant for 30 million euros. The auction was conducted by Euro Insol, the judicial liquidator of RAAN, and took place on October 20. The starting price was set at 30 million euros, and the sale includes over 76 hectares of land, buildings, and industrial equipment. This acquisition follows a series of unsuccessful auctions since 2014, where the initial price was significantly reduced. The plant, operational since 1981, was closed in 2015 due to financial issues. Future energy production will depend on the new owner's plans and the technical condition of the facilities. UMB Group has recently expanded its portfolio by acquiring steel plants in Oțelu Roșu and Hunedoara.
