Grupul Turceni 5 revine în Sistemul Energetic Național

Group 5 of the Turceni power plant is set to reconnect to the National Energy System on August 24, 2026, after technical issues were resolved. The unit will resume energy production, contributing to the energy supply during peak demand periods. The management of Complexul Energetic Oltenia expressed gratitude to the miners and energy workers for their efforts in ensuring coal supply and operational safety. Despite plans for closure by August 31, 2026, the unit may continue operating due to the energy crisis. The plant's shutdown had previously reduced available energy by approximately 220 MW.
