Sorin Grindeanu, the president of PSD, announced the need for a negotiation mandate to discuss with the designated prime minister, Luca Niculescu. He emphasized that PSD cannot support a political structure without solid foundations and must evaluate Niculescu's economic and social vision. Grindeanu expressed disappointment over the president's decision to experiment politically instead of appointing a PSD prime minister. He noted that after seven years of right-wing governance, many Romanians feel the country is heading in the wrong direction. Despite this, he praised Niculescu's capabilities in managing complex issues.
