Greece plans to ban social media access for children under 15 to protect their health and safety online. A parliamentary committee will review the proposed law aimed at preventing early exposure to social media algorithms that can lead to problematic behaviors. The law would assign oversight to the National Council for Radio and Television and the Hellenic Data Protection Authority. Age verification tools like Gov.gr Wallet and KidsWallet will be used to enforce the restriction. This initiative follows similar measures in Turkey and other countries focused on safeguarding youth from negative impacts of social media.
