Grecia interzice de la 1 ianuarie accesul tinerilor sub 15 ani la social media

Greece plans to ban social media access for those under 15 starting January 1, 2027, as part of efforts to address digital addiction among youth. The initiative was announced by Minister Akis Skertsos, highlighting concerns over excessive social media use among students. A survey indicated that 25% of students use social media excessively, with many feeling anxious without access to their phones. The Greek government will implement European monitoring mechanisms for violations, with potential fines for platforms. This move aligns with the EU Kids Act, which aims to enhance online safety for minors, proposing restrictions for users under 15. Ursula von der Leyen emphasized that Europe will set its own rules for tech companies.
