Grecia anunță că nu va ceda în „războiul” cu British Museum pentru Sculpturile Partenonului: „Nu ne vom împrumuta propriile comori”
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis firmly stated that Greece will not accept any agreement recognizing British ownership of the Parthenon Sculptures. Speaking in Thessaloniki, he emphasized that these sculptures are integral to Greece's cultural heritage and should not be treated as mere artifacts. Mitsotakis reiterated that Greece's efforts to reunify the sculptures do not challenge the role of museums globally but highlight the unique status of the Parthenon. The ongoing dispute centers on ownership rights, with Greece rejecting any terms that imply British ownership. UNESCO is also involved, urging both nations to work towards reunification by 2026.
