Google has officially introduced AI-driven voice features, Gemini, in its key office tools like Gmail, Docs, and Keep. This follows months of testing after the initial announcement at the Google I/O 2026 developer conference. The new Gmail Live option allows users to interact with the AI in natural language, asking specific questions about their inbox. Instead of traditional search methods, Gemini provides direct answers based on email content. The feature also includes transcription of questions and answers, which may contain links. Additionally, the AI can assist in creating documents in Docs and generating notes and shopping lists in Keep. Launched in beta in June, the Live feature is now available to all Android and iOS users.
