Google is introducing Motion Assist on Android 17 to help reduce motion sickness for passengers using their phones in vehicles. This feature displays animated graphics on the screen's edges that respond to the vehicle's movements. It utilizes the phone's sensors to adjust the visuals in real-time, aiming to align visual perception with physical motion. Currently, Motion Assist is gradually rolling out to select Pixel devices, with manual activation options available. Similar functionality is already offered by Apple in iOS 18.
