Goeleta ştiinţifică Tara, victima unui jaf armat în Papua Noua Guinee. „Mai mult sperietură”

The French scientific schooner Tara was attacked by armed men in Papua New Guinea, resulting in the theft of computers and mobile phones. Fortunately, the crew was unharmed, with only one person sustaining minor injuries. The incident occurred while the vessel was anchored near Wewak, and the stolen items were valued between €25,000 and €40,000. Despite the shock, the crew remained calm, and all mission data was saved. Tara will continue its research on coral resilience in the Coral Triangle until 2027. This marks the first attack on the vessel in 23 years of operations.
