Toyota's global car sales fell for the sixth consecutive month in July, impacted by rising gasoline prices and competition in China. Sales dropped by 5.3% year-on-year, totaling 912,683 units, while production decreased by 1.4%. The intense competition from local Chinese manufacturers and supply chain disruptions due to Middle Eastern conflicts have pressured Toyota's market position. Sales in China for Toyota and Lexus brands fell by 24%, with a nearly 45% drop in the Middle East. However, sales remained stable in North America and increased in Japan and Europe, driven by hybrid vehicle popularity. Despite these challenges, Toyota raised its profit outlook for the fiscal year ending March 2027, citing strong demand for hybrids in the U.S.
