Carlyle Group has decided not to pursue the acquisition of Lukoil's international assets, which were put up for sale due to U.S. sanctions. The assets, initially valued at around $22 billion, attracted interest from various companies. Carlyle had previously planned to partner with several funds to finance the acquisition. Lukoil's international assets were on the market following sanctions related to the Ukraine conflict, while another major Russian oil company, Rosneft, has not announced any asset sales.
