AUR deputy Gheorghe Piperea predicts that the CDU will face significant losses to the Alternative for Germany (AfD), which is currently leading in the polls. The CDU's support has dropped from 10% to 7%, nearing the 5% threshold needed for parliamentary entry. Piperea suggests that the CDU could even fall below this threshold, marking a potential historic low for the party. The elections are set for September 20, with local elections in Lower Saxony on September 13.
