Germany is deploying four Eurofighter jets to Latvia to secure its airspace during parliamentary elections on October 3. This decision follows a request from Latvia for NATO support due to increased drone incursions in the Baltic Sea region. The jets will be stationed at Lielvarde Air Base for about a week, accompanied by a contingent of soldiers.
