Germania și Franța dețin o treime din rezervele de motorină ale UE
Germany and France hold about 35% of the EU's strategic diesel reserves amid rising fuel prices and U.S. pressure for emergency stock releases. Recent Eurostat data shows the EU had around 39 million tons of diesel in emergency stocks as of May 2025. France and Germany's combined reserves are significant, with U.S. officials expressing dissatisfaction over their commitment to release oil reserves as agreed with the International Energy Agency. The EU's dependency on U.S. diesel imports has increased due to reduced Russian fuel imports and declining refining capacity. Discussions are ongoing regarding potential new stock releases, but no decisions have been made yet.
