Germany has canceled its program for six warships, impacting Rheinmetall's naval expansion plans and reducing expected sales by €350 million this year. Despite this setback, Rheinmetall anticipates overall business growth, projecting sales of up to €14.2 billion, driven by increased military equipment demand. The company acknowledges the direct impact of the cancellation on its 2026 forecasts but remains optimistic about its order portfolio. Germany opted for eight MEKO frigates instead, which are still pending budget approval. Rheinmetall continues to pursue naval sector growth, reporting significant sales from military shipbuilding programs and introducing a new guided missile frigate, GMF 140, for potential sale to a North American state.
