Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt emphasized the need for enhanced defense against hybrid threats, particularly from Russia. The government aims to expand mobile police units and deploy vehicles and helicopters to safeguard major cities. New legislation will allow critical infrastructure operators to detect and counter drone sabotage. Additionally, a national cybersecurity shield is being developed to combat increasing cyberattacks, many attributed to Russia. The government also intends to utilize AI and biometric surveillance for preemptive identification of potential threats.
