Germany is rapidly enhancing its drone defense capabilities following the discovery of an explosive-laden drone at Leipzig/Halle Airport. The federal police's specialized drone unit will double its personnel to 300 and increase operational bases from four to eight. This decision comes amid concerns of a potential foreign involvement linked to Russia. Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt described the incident as a serious hybrid attack threat, emphasizing the rising risks of hybrid warfare. A federal investigation into the drone's presence has been initiated, highlighting the urgency of strengthening national security measures.
