Germania declară război rețelelor care folosesc români pentru fraude cu banii din ajutoare sociale

Germany is intensifying its fight against social assistance fraud, particularly targeting abuses linked to citizens from Romania and Bulgaria. This issue is sensitive in North Rhine-Westphalia, where elections are approaching. State Secretary Leonie Gebers highlighted the exploitation of free movement rights, with vulnerable individuals being housed in poor conditions and their suffering exploited for social benefits. Organized crime networks are reportedly bringing impoverished individuals, often Roma, to Germany, where they are given false employment contracts and their benefits are siphoned off. The rise of right-wing extremism is also noted, as these fraud cases fuel anti-immigrant sentiments. The government plans to enhance data sharing among authorities to combat these issues more effectively and intends to provide support in the countries of origin to deter potential victims from falling prey to criminal groups.
