He criticized the blame placed on them for the unrest, emphasizing their right to protest. The protests were sparked by rising fuel prices and export restrictions due to a viral outbreak. Following the events, 47 protesters were detained, and 10 gendarmes were injured. Simion defended his party's involvement, stating that they should not be associated with the violence that occurred.
