Engie Romania has notified its customers about gas price increases, but bills for winter 2026-2027 will be calculated at a regulated rate below market levels. The company has sent new commercial conditions to over 2.15 million residential clients, indicating a price rise reflecting wholesale market trends. However, due to state protection mechanisms, consumers will not pay these increased prices. The final gas price will be 0.34 lei/kWh, while the regulated price will be significantly lower, thanks to legal obligations for domestic producers to sell gas at capped prices. This ensures financial stability for households during the winter season.
