Gaz din Marea Neagră, la preț fix de 2,5 miliarde de euro pe 7 ani
A new law allows the National Administration of State Reserves to request a budget of nearly €2.5 billion for a gas purchase contract with OMV Petrom. This contract involves fixed-price natural gas from the Neptun Deep project over seven years. The law, initiated by PNL senators, was passed with minimal opposition despite a negative advisory from the Legislative Council regarding funding sources. Former Prime Minister Victor Ponta criticized the government for the contract, highlighting that it only benefits OMV Petrom, ignoring the state-owned Romgaz's stake in the project. The Neptun Deep project is the largest offshore gas exploitation in Romania, with total investments estimated at up to €4 billion.
