The Romanian National Bank reported a significant decrease in foreign currency reserves, dropping by €4.86 billion in one month. As of September 30, 2026, reserves stood at €60.06 billion, down from €64.86 billion in August. During this period, inflows totaled €3.3 billion, while outflows reached €8.1 billion, primarily due to public debt payments and other financial obligations. The total international reserves, including gold, were €72.34 billion at the end of September, compared to €77.62 billion the previous month. Upcoming payments in October for public debt are estimated at €350 million.
