Starting October 1, 2026, bridge tolls at Fetești, Vadu Oii, and Giurgiu will be eliminated as Romania transitions to the TollRo system. Minister Radu Miruță confirmed the removal of these fees, which currently range from 16 to 133 lei, due to the new road tax structure based on pollution levels and distance traveled. However, CNAIR has requested a delay in implementing TollRo until April 2027, citing ongoing testing and the need for a clear legal framework for freight transport. The new system aims to modernize road usage fees and improve efficiency in resource allocation within the transport sector.
