The Romanian government is providing 500 lei to preschoolers and students from low-income families for school supplies. This aid is available for those enrolled in state education from kindergarten to eighth grade. The program, regulated by OUG nr. 83/2023, aims to support approximately 410,000 children annually. To qualify, families must meet specific income criteria, with a net monthly income per family member not exceeding 50% of the national minimum wage. The funds can only be used for educational materials and clothing necessary for school attendance.
