Garda de Mediu: Amenzi de 4,3 milioane lei pe litoral
The National Environmental Guard conducted inspections on the Romanian coast, issuing over 4 million lei in fines and suspending activities of more than 20 businesses due to environmental violations. The main issues included improper waste management and lack of environmental permits. Notably, a case involving untreated wastewater discharge led to a criminal complaint. The inspections focused on complaints from citizens and targeted the HoReCa sector, revealing significant non-compliance. Despite some improvements in cleanliness, officials stress the need for ongoing enforcement to protect the environment and tourism.
