The Cornățel train station, built in 1910, is being restored by the Friends of Mocănița Association with community support. Once a vital hub for rail transport, it fell into disrepair after 2001. Since 2008, efforts have been made to preserve and repurpose the station, culminating in a recent restoration of its façade using traditional techniques. The project was funded through a community marathon, enhancing the national railway heritage. The station will be celebrated during the Mocănița Days in September 2026.
