The Turnu Roșu train station, once a vital link between Transylvania and Romania, now stands nearly deserted as major highway projects advance nearby. Inaugurated in 1910, it marked the connection of the railway networks, facilitating travel between Sibiu and Bucharest. Despite its historical significance, the station has lost importance over time, with most lines decommissioned. Today, only a single line operates, while surrounding infrastructure is being transformed by the construction of the Sibiu-Făgăraș and Sibiu-Pitești highways. The area retains its tourist appeal, featuring the nearby Turnu Roșu Monastery and scenic mountain trails.
