The operation revealed hidden cash and complex fraudulent schemes involving false financial instruments. Investigators found significant amounts of money, including 500,000 lei in a washing machine, linked to the fraud. The suspects allegedly misled the victim into believing they could cash a large check from the U.S. for a fee, leading to substantial financial losses. Further hearings are expected at DIICOT headquarters.
