Meteorologist Alexandru Szatmari clarified that contrails are a natural result of aircraft emissions, which create visible trails in cold air. Some individuals, including former politician Mihai Lasca, continue to promote the chemtrails narrative, claiming government involvement in weather manipulation. Studies have traced the origins of the chemtrails theory to a 1996 Air Force document discussing weather modification hypothetically. European and American authorities have repeatedly denied the existence of secret chemical spraying programs, attributing contrail formation to water vapor and atmospheric conditions.
