On September 3, 1967, Sweden made a historic switch from left to right-hand traffic. At 4:50 AM, vehicles were halted, and by 5:00 AM, they resumed driving on the right. This change aimed to improve road safety and align with neighboring countries. Despite initial public resistance, a significant campaign preceded the switch, and the transition occurred smoothly. Surprisingly, traffic accidents decreased significantly in the following year, marking the event as a successful operation in Swedish history.
